Ginger Lemon Immunity Shots
Especially at a time like this, a little immunity boost never hurt anyone.
This have quickly become part of our morning routine. Ginger helps boost immunity, aids in detox, and helps with digestion thanks to it’s anti-inflammatory properties. Super healer!
Not to forget the benefits of lemon. This will help boost your daily intake of Vitamin C. I find this particularly beneficial in terms of bloating - starting my day with a shot of this (yes, before your coffee!) really reduces any bloating I feel/see in the morning. Not to mention, making these at home will save you from the astronomical prices health food stores will charge for these. I make a slightly larger batch so that it lasts me and my partner a few days.
Let’s go shopping.
6 lemons
3/4 cup of rough chopped ginger knobs (rinsed, but don’t worry about peeling)
1/3 cup of water or coconut water
Prep your ingredients
To make this as simple as possible, don’t even bother juicing the lemons, just cut the skin off to the pulp and cut in half.
Rinse the ginger knob(s) (about the size of your palm?) and roughly chop - you should have about 3/4 cup.
Add lemon and ginger to the blender along with the water.
Blend on high until fully blended.
“Press” the mixture
Put a small micro strainer or a nut milk bag atop of large bowl, push the mixture through the strainer or nut milk bag until a somewhat dry clumpy pulp is left behind, which you can discard. This is a little bit time consuming but well worth it.
Put the juice in a sealed jar, and add to 1-2 oz shot glass in the morning!
